In October 2015, the Ministry of Defence supported the launched a Credit Union Service to allow Service Personnel to save and borrow with repayments straight from their military pay.
Military CU is a trading name of Police Credit Union and currently serves over 28,000 members within the Police, Prison Service and Armed Forces.
A Credit Union is a ‘not for profit’ financial institution owned and controlled by its members. They have a ‘field of membership’ which is based on either where you live or work – this determines who can become a member.
Military CU is a trading name of Police Credit Union was originally set up by the police, for the whole of the police family – serving and retired police officers/police staff and members of their households.
It now serves the wider protective services including prison officers, probation officers and members of the armed forces.

Police Credit Union operates under the terms of the Co-operatives and Community Benefit Act Societies 2014 and the Credit Union Act 1979. It is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and The Prudential Regulation Authority, the same bodies that cover banks and building societies.

We offer simple, secure financial services to meet the needs of those who serve and protect. Our easy access regular savings accounts pay a return in the form of an annual dividend. Savings are made directly from pay where available and by Direct Debit in others.
