Serve and Protect: Key Achievements from 2021/22 as we Supported Members During the Cost of Living Crisis

The Serve and Protect Annual Review is here, giving you a clear look at our financial performance for the 2021/2022 year and celebrating some of our key moments from the last 12 months.

This past year has been challenging for many of our members, as well as the wider credit union sector, with the cost-of-living crisis affecting so many. Through it all, Serve and Protect has stayed focused on supporting you when you’ve needed it most, continuing to grow and adapt to meet the needs of our members.

We’re proud to say that the credit union remains strong and stable. We’ve continued to deliver competitive returns on your savings while offering affordable credit options. Over the past year, we’ve grown to manage over £82 million in savings and provided more than £40 million in loans, all with your needs in mind.

This year, we also reached an exciting milestone—our first payroll partnership with an NHS Trust, welcoming South Tyneside and Sunderland. We’re thrilled to now partner with Shropshire Fire & Rescue, Cleveland Fire & Rescue, HUC, Leicestershire Police, South Yorkshire Police, Cumbria Police, and Wiltshire Police, who joined us over the last 12 months. These partnerships allow us to support even more members across the community.

We encourage you to take a moment to read our Annual Review. It’s a great way to learn more about your credit union and see how we’ve been working to serve and protect you throughout the year.

Thank you for being part of our journey—we’re here to support you every step of the way.
