Financial Resilience Report 2023

Financial Resilience insights from Over 4,000 Respondents

In October 2022, we launched our fourth annual Financial Resilience Survey to better understand the financial wellbeing of our members, the challenges they face, and how these challenges affect their lives.

This year, we heard from 4,019 people across the markets we serve. The results give us a clear picture of what our members are going through, broken down question by question.

Key Findings

  • 39% said they wouldn’t be able to cope financially if something unexpected happened, like a relationship breakdown, job loss, or illness.
  • 35% shared that they don’t have enough savings to get by for even one month if they lost their income.
  • 67% felt their employer could have done more to support them and their colleagues during the rising cost-of-living challenges.
  • 65% said they would need to borrow money to cover an unexpected expense equal to one month’s income.
  • 70% said they wouldn’t feel comfortable turning to their employer for help if they were struggling financially.

These insights show just how important financial resilience is to the lives of our members. By understanding their challenges, we can work together to create solutions that truly make a difference.

We hope this report offers valuable insights for our stakeholders, helping you better connect with and support the Serve and Protect family.
