Providing Support for Our Members During the Pandemic
The Serve and Protect Annual Review gives you a clear and friendly look at how our credit union has performed financially during the 2020/2021 year. It’s also a chance to reflect on some of the highlights and amazing achievements we’ve shared with our members over the past 12 months.
This review offers insight into the progress we’ve made and the support we’ve provided to members like you. From our financial health to the real difference we’ve made in people’s lives, it’s all thanks to our incredible community.
Over the past year, we’ve helped consolidate over £11 million in member debts, making it easier for our members to save money on high-interest loans and repayments. With over £10 million in new savings added in just 12 months, we’re proud to now look after more than £71 million in total member savings. It’s all possible because you trust us as a safe and reliable place to save and borrow.
In September 2021, we strengthened our connection to the police family by merging with Durham Constabulary Credit Union. This partnership allows us to continue the 32-year legacy they built, and we couldn’t be prouder to carry it forward.
During the lockdowns, we worked hard to support wellbeing in our community. In February and April, we launched the #StayForceFit and #StayFireFit challenges, encouraging everyone to stay active and connected. Participants logged their miles for their Police Force or Fire & Rescue Service, and together we raised thousands of pounds for welfare funds and the Fire Fighters Charity. The response was truly inspiring—over 296 participants clocked an incredible 86,920 miles! We’re so grateful to everyone who took part and made a difference.
