Two thirds of police forces now offer payroll deduction

Police officers in two thirds of forces in the country are now eligible to save and borrow with repayments straight from their pay with the help of financial resilience experts Serve and Protect.

This week WE announced a merger with Durham Constabulary Credit Union (DCCU) – welcoming their 958 members and £2million in savings.

Durham Constabulary became the 31st force out of 46 in England and Wales to launch into such an agreement with Serve and Protect.

Last month Derbyshire Constabulary and Lincolnshire Police also launched payroll deduction with Serve and Protect.

73% of members started saving with us due to the convenience of ‘payroll deduction’.

Serve and Protect CU is a ‘not-for-profit’ financial cooperative which is passionate about improving the financial resilience of those who serve the nation. We now serve more than 35,000 members within the Police, Prison, Military, Fire and Health Services.

Payroll deduction is currently provided across 31 Police Forces across the United Kingdom, the Ministry of Defence and Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service.

We are here to help our members save, but also there when they need to borrow throughout their service career and beyond.
